Vogue 1250 - The Second Time Around

Two weeks ago, I finished my second Vogue 1250 dress. The fabric is a tighter weave than the first dress. So I graded up a 1/2 size to make sure it fits. On the back bodice, three inches above the waistline I scooped out about 1/2 inch hoping to pull the lower back closer to my body. It's better. So, I know many of you have made this dress multiple times. It's definitely the most popular dress pattern of the summer.

Next, I revisited a dress pattern that is as easy as the Vogue 1250. My full review will be posted this evening or tomorrow morning.

Stay Tuned!

  1. Love it in the print! You could dress this up or down.

  2. I just sent you a message on Facebook about this dress. But will ask here also-are you making any type of FBA with this dress and if so how? And when you say scoop out the back are you talking about a swayback adjustment? Inquiry minds need to know.

  3. Hi Linda, I didn't do a FBA. My fabric has quite a bit of stretch in it. I think I using the style ease across the bust area compared to the model on the envelope. Sorry I can't use the pattern to illustration the sway back adjustment. I loaned my pattern to a friend. Hopefully, I can better explain. At the lower part of the side seam of the back bodice, I started gradually cutting into the seam allowance to reduce the width of the lower back. About two inches above the waistline I pivoted to increase the width. So that I didn't change the width at the waist where the back skirt collects to the back bodice. If this is unclear, let me know. I'll draw it and send it to you.
    Thanks,
