Vogue 1250 - The Classic
This is my third dress made using Vogue 1250. The first one is starting to show signs of wear. It's in frequent rotation. I wear it about once every two weeks. It's so easy to throw on and go. So I needed another to replace it. This new dress was made about two weeks ago, and I've already worn it twice. These little numbers are "effortless fashion" that look good and wear well.
It took even less time (1 1/2 hours) than the first two. All sewn by machine. This is one of those dresses that you can make over and over again using different print and/or color fabrics. You can pair it with a tailored jacket or comfort cardigan, you look great.
I guess simple, summer knit dresses is becoming signature wear for me. Yeah simple knit dresses for the summer are perfect for anytime. And this is one of my favorites.
Pictured with my second cardigan (Simplicity 2424) and a broach made by my DD. I've worn this outfit to church and to work.
For this version I made a small FBA and added a center back seam.
So, if you need to beef up you summer wardrobe with a few more cute, simple knit dresses, Vogue 1250 is the perfect solution. I'm off to work!
Happy Sewing!

Your dress is beautiful! Love the style, fabric. The cardigan is the bomb. Great job!!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful, funny enough, I wore the same V1250 dress to work today as well. It's so versatile.I love your print
ReplyDeleteThis dress is a great silhouette on you. I am not surprised that you are making such a great pattern again and again. It looks good with the little jacket too, very professional, but ready for socialising after work too.
ReplyDeleteWhat a versatile pattern....makes a pretty dress every time!
ReplyDeleteIt's good to have a dependable pattern you can count on when you need a dress. The dress looks fabulous on you and the fact that you can sew it up so quickly is definitely a plus.
ReplyDeleteI saw this on Flickr (cause you know I be stalking you! *LOL*) and decided that I need another one too...so I've pulled some fabric and that is going to be my 4th of July project!
ReplyDeleteThanks ladies.
ReplyDeleteCarolyn - You know I'm trying to catch up with you on the number of cute V1250 dresses. Lol This is a great little project for the 4th. You won't spend a lot of time on it.
This is a fabulous choice for both practical and aesthetic reasons. You look great in this, Cennetta!
ReplyDeletelove it!
ReplyDeleteI just love this pattern. Such a pleasure to make and wear.
ReplyDeleteThis style and the print make you look simply stunning.
ReplyDeleteYou look wonderful! I love the way this dress looks on you - on everyone else. I'm quite miffed that it doesn't work on me. I tried - just doesn't look right. I do think that one needs an "actual bust" for the neckline to lay properly. Oh well - I'll find something else to make multiples of.
ReplyDeleteVery pretty dress. Love the fabric.
ReplyDeleteA great version of this pattern, which is rapidly becoming (or maybe has become) a classic. I love it with the purple jacket!
ReplyDeleteGreat dress. You need simple knit dresses with this weather we're having!!
ReplyDeleteI love the fabric! Happy colors get me going.
ReplyDeleteWow, this one is very pretty too! When you have time, you should make a couple more so that your rotation is bigger and you'd wear them out in less time! That's what I do when I really like something! Beautiful work and love it, love it, love it!!
ReplyDeleteYou look gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteHi C - this looks great! Love the fabric. I don't know that I have ever heard someone describe this pattern like you have here. I like those easy, cute, throw on and go dresses. I may get this one.
ReplyDeleteI just love "effortless fashion"! This is definitely a wonderful addition to your wardrobe.
ReplyDeleteThis is one of my favourite patterns. It is just so versatile and looks great on every sewer.
ReplyDeleteLovely dress and pretty print.
ReplyDeleteThe dress looks great on you. I really need to try out this pattern after seeing so many different versions of the same dress.
ReplyDeleteLovely dress - it doesn't look like a "simple knit dress"! I love the fabric, too.
ReplyDeleteSeeing your dress with the patterned fabric just solidifies my thought process - I need to sew this dress again with a patterned fabric so it looks a bit more casual for work. Love the fabric!! And the dress looks classic.
ReplyDeleteI just finished this same dress! It looks SO good on you. Isn't this a great pattern?
ReplyDeleteThanks, everyone. This is certainly my all time favorite easy knit dress.
