The snow finally stopped at 1:00pm. So I decided to go outside to remove the snow from my car. It was unbelieveable. Here is a view of the Blizzard of 2011. Heavy photos.
So, there is nothing left to do but wait. Wait until the trucks come to move some of the snow.
This is my world right now. This is life.

I didn't know you were in Illinois too!! Your pictures look very similar to mine except we're out in the country. My poor little apple trees are buried up to almost their very tops! I was thinking I should be sewing since I'm stuck inside for awhile. :)
ReplyDeleteIt's pictures like those that make me very happy to live in the Southwest and not Chicago (although Chicago has many, many good things!). Still way too cold here at 9 degrees but not too much snow build up.
ReplyDeleteI know you probably honkered down with the sewing machine. I certainly hope we don't get any. Stay warm.
ReplyDeleteStay warm! We're snowed in here too. I've been sewing though, so that was a nice little surprise to my week!
ReplyDeleteI used to live in NE Indiana ... and I don't miss sights like this one bit! I do wish you happy sewing while waiting to be dug out, and hope y'all's heat and power stay on.
ReplyDeleteOMGoodness! That looks like soooo much fun! I love the snow! Hope it gets better for you all soon!!
ReplyDeleteAmazing! I'd love to get some snow here in Virginia but I don't want that much!
ReplyDeleteThat is A LOT of snow! If you don't have to telecommute, plunk yourself in front of your sewing machine and have a good ole time.
ReplyDeleteWow! I saw this on the news this morning.. You guys got hit hard with the snow. Today was very bad in NY we got hit with sheets of ice all over the streets and sidewalks. It was very dangerous going out today.
ReplyDeleteI want a blizzard so I can have a sew day.
ReplyDeleteHere in MPLS.
I had to giggle. You shoveled your car beautifully, but there was so much snow AROUND your car, I wondered where you were going to be able to drive to.....if at all.
:)
WOW!!!!! just wow.
ReplyDeleteheatwave in Sydney. Your photos cooled me down.
ReplyDeleteSo much snow! I hope you get a lot of fun sewing in since you can't do anything else. Hang in there :)
ReplyDeleteBeen there...doing that! We got ice today and it was treacherous...I hope you can sew because that is the only upside to all that snow!
ReplyDeleteWow! Hang in there. Wish I could send some Maui sunshine your way!
ReplyDeleteOooh. Well, it's nice to clear out your car, but I can't imagine where you could drive it to in these conditions :-). Snow day=sewing, right?? I recommend.. sweater knits :-).
ReplyDeleteI'm in the south suburban area and I guess I will venture out to the store today. I stayed in yesterday and sewed a little. Good luck getting out on the street though.
ReplyDeleteThat was me last year this time! Boy did I have a ball sewing! Stay warm, can't wait to see what you create!
ReplyDeleteThis is why I only lived in Chicago for 1 year and only visit between April-September, couldn't take the winters, you guys are of hardy stock to deal with that. Be safe and stay warm.
ReplyDeleteThat's impressive! I hope you can enjoy your snow day.
ReplyDeleteNow that is a lot of snow. Our Chicago office got a day & 1//2 off... of course we in New York were Jealous.
ReplyDeleteI know you must be very winter-weary about now. I know I am. I really hate snow! Just keep think June and July will come eventually.
ReplyDeleteI everyone in your family is doing ok. Be safe!
ReplyDeleteWow! That is a lot of snow. You must have been so cold out there while getting the snow off of your car. We were supposed to get snow and then didn't. The kids were so disappointed. We did get ice, though. There were 800 accidents on the road in less than 24 hours in our city.
ReplyDeleteYou look gorgeous in your earthtone Simplicity dress. Great colors for you.
Girl, I know exactly what you're going through. We just have to get thorugh Feb. and then we're usually home free.
ReplyDeleteYour weather outside is frightful!
