What's Your Favorite Stiletto?
Yes, I'm a bit of a clothes horse. But I think shoes are an important accessory that can make or break that perfect outfit. This fall all the magazines have wild and funky shoe styles. Many are too racy for my taste or life style.
So my question to you is: What's your favorite stiletto? Meaning what's your favorite shoe style? Is it the ballerina, Mary Jane, spectator or stiletto? Here are a few,..., okay quite a few interesting shoes.
Happy Fall Shoe Hunting!

I'm on my feet all day, so I automatically default to loving flats. If my fall shoe budget allows, I'm definitely following the menswear brogue trend. I also love a good Mary Jane pump, but because of my high instep, I can't wear them for very long.
ReplyDeleteNone are my favorite stiletto, dahling.
ReplyDeleteStilettos are cruel, and at 51 my feet suffer from having worn them when I was young. I still like a heel though. I prefer wedges, ballet flats and boots with a solid heel.
ReplyDeleteI like the high vamp look but don't have the wardrobe for it. I tend to wear 1-2.5" low vamp no matter what I'm wearing since I tend to dislike flats but I'm going to buy ballet slippers and knee-length flat boots this year! I can't wait to poke around your blog to get my sewing revival going!
ReplyDeleteLove those brogues! I have a pair of brogue style Hush Puppies that I have had forever. When I bought them I thought they were the ugliest shoes I had ever seen. But running through airports every week was killing my feet! Now I think they are stylish (as proven by the mag layouts) and many years later they wear as well as they did the first day. By buying standard now is if the shoes hurts when you first try it on--well, it ain't going to get get better. Only buy shoes that feel good on your feet right from the start. Don't be seduced by a good looking but bad to the bone shoe! The advice works for lovers too.
ReplyDeleteYes! I LOVE them all! Except the flats. Even 5 months pregnant, if the heel is less than 3 inches, I'm not interested. Bring on the stilettos!
ReplyDeleteI've always been a fan of Mary Janes!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Cennetta, I need to be reminded that I need to think about shoes for my Fall wardrobe. I agree that most of the styles shown in the Fall magazines are too wild and funky. I love stilettos but my feet hate them. I tend to wear ballerina shoes or shoes with a wedge heel.
ReplyDeleteI wear heels to work every day. For fall, I bought a fwe pair from Nine West that have 2.5" heels. They are just so much more comfortable than 4" heels.
ReplyDeleteFor casual wear, I am addicted to pointy toe flats. I love to wear wide leg jeans, and the pointy toe looks better with them than ballet flats. I just ordered another pair last night (Sam Edleman always has a selection).
For fall, I want a pair of the rugged looking boots with heels, but I can't find any that have heels under 4"! Not at all practical for winter wear up here in New England.
Hmm, I'm not loving any of those heeled boots in the first photo, nor am I board with the menswear spectators. I like spectators, but pump or Mary Jane style. Give me a Mary Jane (especially a high heeled one!) or a cute flat and I'm a happy camper.
ReplyDeleteI'm currently on a flats kick - mostly of the ballet variety. When I wear heels I prefer those in the 2.5-3" category, which is actually difficult to find.
ReplyDeleteLow vamp, pointed toe, minimum 3"heel. In a dynamic colour! Or an animal print.

I walk four miles a day for my commute, so it's pretty much Dansko sandals in summer and flat boots in winter. Shoes are often the weak link in my outfits.
ReplyDeleteI love heels..and wore flats at first but they are hard on my back so I started to wear my 4 inch wedges and I have no problems. But my fave stilettos are T-strap and then mary janes. I always go to the t-strap first.. I have chubby feet and the t-straps look better on my feet
ReplyDeleteI want the green Armani flats. Total shoe lust here for those.
