New Look Skirt in Review - N6640
I am huge fan of asymmetrical hemlines. So when I saw this New Look pattern I saw an opportunity to add a new one to my wardrobe. It's a relatively new pattern with three design options. I made view A.
Mood's Italian Green and Black Printed Ponte Knit was perfect for a great fall/winter skirt. It is a medium weight knit with moderate stretch. The hand is soft and smooth. For a that grab and go wardrobe piece, it fits the build. No pressing needed; wash, dry and go. Currently, there are 170 yards available just for you. ;-)
The skirt is easy to make. The front has a side front with a drawstring. It has a center back zipper with waist darts. The front hem is uneven coming a point at the drawstring opening. The waist is finished with a facing. It is available in sizes 8 to 20. I used size 16.
This skirt was a fun little project. My skirt does look like the skirt modeled on the envelope. The instructions easy breezy. Nothing confusing in them.
My likes are the hemline and the drawstring. I made this one straight out of the envelope, only changing the length of the waist darts.
This is a fun little skirt to add to your wardrobe and the ponte knit makes it easy to wear. The combination of the two is perfect "stay ready" wardrobe piece. So if you are interested, now is the time to place your order.
Happy Sewing!
