Question: What Do You Do With All Those Muslins?

This is the year of purging.  I'm seriously purging everywhere in my home.  I want to reduce any clutter.  Here is a pile of  muslins that I made over the past few years. It looks like a pile of something worth keeping, but why? I don't need them anymore.  So, I'm throwing them in the trash.

What do you do with all your muslins?  How long do you keep them?  Do you recycle the fabric? Or just toss them?

Do share.

Happy Sewing!

  1. I cut my muslins up and use them as cleaning rags.

    1. Great. Something to consider the next time I have a pile of muslins.

  2. Often I cut up the muslins and use the fabric for stuffing toys and other things that require stuffing - even pillows. Saves on buying foam and it reminded me of my grandmothers pillows as she had made her own. I did donate them to the College of Dupage once as they have a Fashion Department teaching design (after opening the seams). Students do not have a lot of money to buy the fabric so reusing the fabric does help.

  3. If you have an H&M nearby, they have a textile recycling program.
